Challenging and rewarding best describes the PADI Rescue Diver course. It will also expand your knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to quickly look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers.
Although the course only takes 2/3 days to complete the course philosophy focuses on the concept that there is rarely only one way to accomplish a task.
There is no single “right” way to perform a rescue, but rather there are many variables and resources that rescuers consider and draw upon, depending upon the scenario. It takes a flexible, conceptual approach to rescue — a rescuer’s relative size and strength, for example, as well as environmental factors, may dictate or influence what rescue technique will be most effective.
A pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course is the Emergency First Response course which is included in the price.
Although challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. The Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. Many divers say this is the best course they’ve ever taken.
